2007 LSU (12-2)- Admittingly this team looked dominant the first 5 games of the year... but the injuries kicked in and this will go down as the flukiest championship team of all time. Numerous close/lucky wins against Florida, Auburn, and Alabama and limping into the title game with an unimpressive showing against a mediocre UTenn squad. The flukiest aspect of this squad is being a 2 loss champion.
I don't think that team was a fluke. People seem to forget that a 2 loss team was going to the championship that season regardless. If it had been Georgia or Virginia Tech over LSU, they would belong on this list.
And that "unimpressive showing" in the SEC title game was won by the backup QB with a massive cut on his throwing hand.
