Is this not the reaction that everyone else gets when seeing it on? I'm trying to understand why the Military Channel would pick this for their Friday night movie.

Watch 15 minutes of a movie called "Zombiez". Windtalkers would seem Oscar worthy.

Miracle at St. Anna is the worst movie of all time.

Any movie where Nicholas Cage is the best actor in it will have problems.

I liked 8mm.

There are better actors in 8mm than Nic Cage he is the absolute best though in Windtalkers.

Protect the code!
Too bad a "true story" was butchered into this abortion of a movie.

i'm with you. they were playing some great movies on the military channel for a while but it's gone down hill

There are much worse blockbuster movies, but yes, that movie sucks.

I've seen films much, much worse. Plus Windtalkers has Nic Cage, who is always a bright spot.

No doubt about that. Phoenix, Reedus, JG, hell even "machine".
And uh, no way I'd put windtalkers over tears of the sun.

Once you watch platoon, full metal jacket, midway, the longest day, we were solders, Patton, saving private Ryan, band of brothers, and pacific then yes wind talkers was a bad movie.
Not compared to the above then it is a decent war movie that portrays one mans struggle to follow orders versus his conscience and his struggle to disconnect and not make friends/forget what he did or saw.

No. This movie sucked arse in any context. If it existed in a vacuum where it was the only movie that existed at all, it would still suck. The acting was shite and the script was shite. The battle scenes were also absolute shite. I'd say it's the worst war movie I've ever seen.

Horrible, lame movie. About as bad as Gibson's We Were Soldiers.

Oddly you bring up We Were Soldiers which was Vietnam not WW2 but you think the wave of pretty bad movies (We were Soldiers, Windtalkers, The Great Raid) anyone think they were related to the success of Saving Private Ryan/Band of Brothers? Or was it to do with cashing in on post 911 patriotism?
