Max's sidekick (Dirk I think) in Rushmore is overly serious, but is still funny

Considering the hype, I was extremely let down by it. I just had a cold response to it; it didn't move me one way or another and felt like Anderson was merely riffing on himself - that would be OK if that were the intent. It looks beautiful but as I said, I didn't connect with it whatsoever.
