Yeah, just watch the Empty Child/Doctor Dances combo episode from the first season of the reboot, and then watch Blink from that particular Tennant season. If you don't like either episode then Doctor Who just isn't for you.
As far as the first episode of the reboot goes, it is indeed cheesy as hell, so it's not hard to see folks being bored with it.
