I agree that winning the Panther's games are more important, but this is still a very big game for us.

HOWEVER, I like the fact that we are playing them there. If we have to go up there during the playoffs, we have the experience of this game to build on.

THIS is my point. A LOT of homefield advantage isn't some mystical power given by sleeping in your own bed, it's from having to deal with the hostile crowd and be organized/efficient in a noisy, crazy environment.

Most of the time, a team tries to prepare by practicing with piped-in music, or silent counts, etc, the week before the game. The Saints, on the other hand, get to go in and play in that environment on a Monday night in a late-season game, and see exactly what does and doesn't work.

I want a win, but more than that, I want us to finish the game strongly. If they jump out early and we reel 'em in but can't quite catch them, then fine- I think game 2 goes to us. If we play them toe-to-toe but they win a squeaker, again- I like Payton/Brees more than Carroll/Wilson to make the adjustments. The only thing that will really concern me would be if they beat us wire-to-wire.

We haven't played well on the road yet this year so I vehemently disagree with your post. Also, we don't play good in outdoor stadiums...so, if we don't get homefield we will play away and likely out doors, so we could be one and done in the playoffs without HFA
And that's why the Panthers games are bigger. We beat Seattle and get swept by Carolina, we lose the division. But one win against Carolina and we should take the NFC South, and end up #2 overall, so no "one and done"- we'll play at home in our first game regardless.
