The current timeline of events as we know them according to released statements

12/7/2012 (3:22a) - FSU PD called to a female dorm room due to reported rape. Determined that TPD will handle the case, because the incident occurred off campus

12/7/2012 (4:01a) - FSU PD alerts TPD about the rape complaint. According to the released report:
quote:

Rape occurred between 1:30a to 2:00a
Suspect was unidentified
Victim was given a drink by unknown person, and suspected it was drugged
Rape happened in an off campus apt
Photos of injuries were taken
Evidence was collected via rape kit

1/10/2013 - Victim calls TPD detective to identify Winston as her rapist. Also, Winstons roommate was identified as a witness to the act.

1/11/2013 - TPD notified that atty Patricia Carroll would be representing the victim, and that all contact should go through her

1/14/2013 - Detective Angulo notifies Winston of the rape accusation and that the victim has hired an atty. The victim is not made aware of this contact with Winston.

1/15/2013 - Applicable evidence is sent to Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for processing.

1/23/2013 - Winston has hired an atty, who tells TPD his client has declined to be interviewed. This info is also withheld from the victim.

1/2013 - Carroll was warned by TPD detective that Tallahasse was a "big football town and the victim needs to think long and hard before proceeding against him because she will be raked over the coals and her life will be made miserable."

2/11/2013 - TPD claims that contact has been broken off by victim. A supplemental police report is filed indicating the case is open but inactive, and will only be pursued if the victim decides to pursue charges.

2/12/2013 - Winstons attorney (who also represents FSU) notified by TPD that the case was closed.

2/22/2013 - Results received from the FDLE Toxicology Section are received and relayed to the victim's attorney. The victim's attorney stated she would review the findings with her client.

3/29/2013 - More results requested by victims atty are received by TPD from the FDLE

4/4/2013 - FDLE results shared with victims atty. According to TPD her BAC levels were within legal limits

8/27/2013 - FDLE provides the analysis of the sexual assault kit to TPD. Results were never provided to victim or her atty.

10/5/2013 - Tallahassee asst city manager named as interim police chief

11/8/2013 - Tampa newspaper requests a copy of 12/7 police report

11/11/2013 - Working from a tip, tmz contacts TPD also asking for a copy of the police report. No information was provided to them for 2 days

11/12/2013 - Tallahassee city officials begin exchanging emails about the media request, stating that the girl was drunk the night of the incident and that police "stopped getting responses from the young woman and could no longer contact her for additional follow up and information after many attempts to do so."

11/12/2013 - State prosecutors are notified for the first time of the rape report

11/13/2013 - tmz identifies Winston as the suspect in an 11-month hidden rape allegation

Angry that FSU PD was given a copy of the report, since Winstons atty is also FSUs atty

If he raped her then he should go to jail for life with no parole. If she consented to sexual relations then later regretted it and is making up the rape afterwards, she should go to jail for life.

Unreal story.

Does he beat this case?

Is it fair to say his FSU career is over?

Whoever is involved in this cover up is a real piece of shite. They need to be prosecuted, all of them. Probably will actually.

Is there a link for this? City officials meaning the mayor or chief of police?

I'm not reading all 48 pages. I'm hopeful that the victim is getting some support. Both parties deserve equal support, but I sense that the superstar is getting a pass. If he raped this girl, is it more important that he's charged before or after the season?

I know it's important that FSU finishes strong. I only hope the victim, if proven to be a true victim, receives justice.

If Jameis was a typical criminal would he get protection from local police? Would the police tell the victim to "just let it go" if Jameis was a nobody?

Looking forward to the outcome. And I hope our justice system doesn't fail the victim or Jameis.

I'm still on the fence. What scares me is that this kinda of thing could happen to any man on this board who has ever had a one night stand, but I guess that's just a risk we take.

What's interesting is the whole date rape drug issue. If this is true it doesn't matter if they had a prior relationship or not.
