I'm studying for it now with plans to take the test in March/April 2014. I have a friend who just got a job with Shell as a Sr. Project Manager. He ended up increasing his salary by 25%. He got his PMP two years ago. He also holds a MBA so I don't know if that played a role in his offer. He told me that the hiring manager said that one of the main reasons he got the job was because he held a PMP cert. b/c it demonstrated that he had a good understanding of how to run projects.

I'm looking to do the same for myself after I acquire my PMP. Hopefully, it turns out the same for me.
