The poster who said the Forty "whiners" were thug POS's was exactly correct. I said it the last time they stole a game from us. The coach whines..the team whines..and they cheat at every opportunity. I was so glad we beat them.

I actually don't like the call , or at least the rule, but that's the rule now and the Saints have gotten just as screwed on the same type of call. If the Saints are gonna get screwed on a call just like that, then that call has to be made.

My feelings exactly.
Remember White's recent penalties for hitting the QB - nearly back to back plays. That's the way it is. I don't like the rule but it is what it is.

Normally, I'm all over the argument that football is getting turned into a pussy sport with all the penalties to protect players and cover the league's arse in lawsuits.

But that tackle was ridiculous. I think a flag would have been thrown 20 years ago. You can't clothesline a player like that. Under the right circumstances, you can snap a player's neck doing that shite!

I get that it's football and the goal is to sack the shite out of the qb and force a fumble. But come on...

I don't like the rule where if you touch a QB near the face it's a flag. I don't like the crap where if the ball carrier lowers himself into you making you hit his head when you wouldn't have it's a flag.

This was neither. This was was vicious high hit on an unsuspecting QB who had no time to react and adjust his body to cause the hit to be higher than it was aimed. And as some have said, this is the type of hit that would have been flagged decades ago for clotheslining Drew, not a new product of the "pussifying of the NFL" in the last few years.

It's annoying to have all the talking heads talk as if this was a game-winning penalty that came from a pinky touching Drew's helmet or something. Brooks had a clear shot and could have hit him lower but instead decided to try and killshot him. Deserved the flag and whatever fines he has coming.

I think these idiots really don't know the rules. You don't have to make contact with the head. The neck...read the rules about the neck.

Actually, rules to protect the neck have been in place a lot longer than rules against hitting the helmet. Old school thought was the helmet protects the head, and the neck is not protected.

So much talk about head injuries and helmet hits that these so called experts, many of them former players, seemingly do not understand why a blow to the neck is serious and should be called.

Having said that, had Brooks not continued to follow through, they probably wouldn't have called the flag. Instead Brooks turned Brees into a crash test dummy and took him all the way down to the ground by his neck and had the underside of his facemask (or was holding onto Brees' chin like a bowling ball.)

How anyone would pick this play as an example of the rules being bad is beyond me. Pick a play where a flag is called for touching a QB's helmet if you want to argue against the rule, not a play that could have broken a guy's neck.
