The defense is just as bad in all three levels, if not worse and we have for the most part no major injuries.

The offense has declined and is making more mental mistakes and Mett appears to be missing the reads he was nailing in the beginning of the year. The Oline has just not gelled, but has become unglued.

As opposed to frickin Auburn, who is getting better every week as the season progresses.

Do our players lose interest and focus once the chance at a Natty is lost?

I really want to see a better LSU team against A&M. If we regress further, Miles is going to feel some heat from the media (he already gets reamed by the fans). If the Oline stinks again, Stud is gone.

Maybe its because they played absolutely horrible teams early in the season

Refreshing and new takes here. All of them.

And never use the word "Natty" again.

Thanks in advance.

Their out of conference schedule was an abomination. To be honest with you when we beat TCU the first game of the year I was hardly impressed.

The loss @ UGA zapped a lot from the team, was there and could feel it. Of course we rolled the 2nd half Moo St and then they tinkered with the O for UF game and we saw what happened after that but I really sensed a balloon burst when that last 4th down pass fell to the Georgia grass!

I do think the attitude of our fan base is BCSCG or the season is a loss--meaning that the UGA loss made the season a loss as a whole to many fans.

Decades ago, a team could have 2 or 3 losses and still play a "meaningful" bowl game. In '65 LSU was 7-3, not in the top 10, and beat #1 Arky in the Cotton Bowl as a 25 point underdog.

Those days are gone with the media attention to CFB, the internet, and the plethora of bowl games. A loss does seem more significant now, but the players still have to play all the games, whether the fans are behind them or not--I liked the old days better personally.

We have definitely digressed as the season has worn on. I made that exact same observation to someone after the amab game.

Also, re: stud, I hate how we have to have a friggin' all-star line-up of coordinators and position coaches to be successful. Every year, it's something new. First it was the defense, then the offense, then the offense again, now it's OL (and the defense). I mean, come on. Feels like we're chasing our damn tails.
