seems excessive to me, i am not a "I don't answer questions guy ( LINK)" either, but the CCW says that I abide by gun laws.

especially when a NC State Trooper the week before simply told me to keep it in place and we will be fine.

Some are more gun shy than others. This one may have a had a friend or partner in a traffic stop shooting. I am not a huge fan of cops, but I don't think this is a big deal

Sounds like pretty standard protocol to me...

May seem excessive to YOU but put yourself in his shoes.

Go pull people over next week and see what it feels like walking up to a car with a stranger- then to learn he has a gun.

And having a CCW does not assure that any one "abides by gun laws" other than you abiding by the laws that allow you to carry.

"Law abiding" citizens have, on more than one occasion, opened fire on innocent people.

Big deal. Not every person's comfort zone is the same. He may have been a rookie cop too. I know one thing, an officer can never be TOO careful. When they are, that's when they could pay with their life.
