I'm not advocating for everyone to go and smoke, but if everyone was afraid to because of some fricked up War on Drugs, the status quo would just continue
And I understand your point, but your conclusion based off of it is wrong. You said smoking pot was wrong because of the cartels it supports. The system and law here is at fault, not those who smoke it.
