I have seen what the budget cuts have done to LSU, I'm afraid to see what state the hospital system is in if it took 90% of the cuts.Yikes!

LSU has cancelled programs, eliminated various parts of facility services, and faculty and staff have left in large numbers. However, LSU still has a very large administration and they didn't make any cuts in that area.

Jindal's cutting the Stelly tax act which tremendously helped education and LSU grow by leaps and bounds in the 90's, didn't help.

Bama has done a really nice job and sticking to a plan and going the extra mile in building something. LSU seems to half arse just about everything.

I have mentioned this before but Lsu does a horrible job with their alumni fund raising. My wife graduated from the university of Texas and they have student workers who call every 3 months requesting donations. Lsu should do something similar. Even if every alumni donated just $100 a year it could generate a tremendous amount of money. The athletic department does a good job but the academic side should not rely on the $5million donation every year.
