One thought would be to get a cheap shitty gun locker and put some shitty guns in it. Hide the good stuff elsewhere.

I'ma tell ya,you wouldn't be fooling many. Most guns stolen are by close acquaintances or family members.

Serious as a heart attack.

My grandfather was an avid gun collector and this is one of the things he told me when I was young. Don't ever show people where you keep your guns, even friends. He had a couple less valuable guns locked in a gun rack which would be easy to break into, and the rest of his stuff was in a safe elsewhere. It wasn't until I was about 20 that he showed me his bench safe which was in the kids playroom where we would play when I was little.

I don't have the same setup, but I spent a lot of money on a very nice safe, and my house alarm is always set. They might be able to get in, but they won't have a enough time to get anything out of that safe.

Wife and I moved into a new house a few years back and had been living there for less than a week. We had to leave town for the weekend and I forgot to hide my guns that were stuck in one of the beds. 45 minutes after we left somebody busted out our back window and stole my 870 and 30-30. The 30-30 was the hardest one to lose because every deer I have ever killed was with that gun.

Never found them.
