i'm in virginia currently, but my wife is visiting her mom in New Orleans so i'm trying to get her to pick some up for the thanksgiving turkey

I'm lost...you want sugar cane for a turkey? I'm assuming that is something popular that I've never heard of...and I grew up chewing on a piece of sugar cane broken off in the field on the reg.

Tell your wife to go to Raceland on Hwy 90 to the west of NOLA, Lafourche Parish should still have plenty in the fields, the harvesting awaits the first frost to go into gear.
