ULM to ULL: We have more pressing issues to deal with

In conflict with previous public requests for its teams to be called ULM, meanwhile, it's now known UL Monroe submitted a request to the Sun Belt to be referred to as UL and Louisiana.

That move apparently was designed more to stymie UL's attempts to drop the Lafayette reference for its athletic teams, however, than to reflect its own name wishes.

So...let me get this straight.

ULM was the first school to jump on the "Louisiana" branding for athletics with Louisiana Indians. It never caught on, so they abandoned that strategy and went with "ULM".

UL-Lafayette then decides to go with "Louisiana Ragin Cajuns", and now the people in Moanroe (nothing to do up there other than West Monroe and ULM, which the latter no one attends, so plenty of time on their hands to bitch and moan) suddenly get their panties knotted up.

Got it now. Let's move on. Not worth our time.
