Taking their sweet arse time doesn't correlate with making a better movie...hell it may result in the movie being much tighter and less fraught with CGI crap by sticking to the original timeline. Its all about execution. they literally have an "A-team" of production pros on this film. no excuse they can't get it done.

Then why haven't they? And why are they having trouble getting people on board for this?
Iger may be wanting to "fulfill" his promises to his shareholders but the one thing you forgot to mention is Iger steps down in 2015. Meaning chances are he couldn't give a shite less about this franchise or where it's going. Since he's been CEO he's basically been buying names that were already built and been trying to focus on technology. Only problem is he's put one of those names 563 million in the hole. If anything it looks like he's pulling a The Producers and taking the money and running.
