I haven't read the book in 5 or 6 years. But, I really liked the movie. My only complaint is that a lot of it felt very rushed. Or, is the book rushed too?

Probably just the effect of condensing a book into a below 2 hours movie.

They did rush it quite a bit. However, with rushing it, the movie was still about 2 hours. I would of showed how he established the friendships a little more and as someone said earlier, they didn't show his griefing side as much as I feel was needed to really show his character. The fact that Peter got about 5 lines in the movie was interesting... Reminded me of what they did in Eragon movie by completely cutting a whole subplot.

The book didn't feel rushed at all despite being really short. And the book takes place over like 4 years or so.
