I plan on also buying a fifth wheel camper for the family, which is why I want a diesel. I had an 06 Dodge Megacab with a 5.9, and probably shouldn't have sold it. The air conditioner sucked really bad and after many attempts to fix it and modify it, I gave up. I will not buy another dodge. I am looking at spending less than $30k on the truck and will probably keep it a while. I drive a company car, so I wouldn't put a whole lot of miles on the truck except for camping and hunting trips.

depending on the miles, you can find a 6.7 in the 30k range.

We have the exact same budget. The 7.3 is the tits, the 6.0 is good if its been fixed, the 6.4 although i dont know much is a piece from what Ive heard.

the problem with the 6.0 and 7.3's is your are stuck with an older car. its a trade off modern conveniences vs engine.

Either take your time and try to find the right deal on a 6.7 or go chevy/gmc

The 6.0 and 6.4 are junk.

The 7.3 is great, but theyre hard to find in decent shape without a million miles.
