I've been to San Diego Comicon once, I'll never go back. It wasn't the stars, the lines, the price, or even nerds.
The smell, nothing anyone will ever tell you would prepare you for that smell. It's full of overweight nerds in costumes that make them sweat three times more than normal and they probably haven't bathed or slept in 24-36 hours.
Add to that the mass of humanity means viruses spread like wildfire there. It can't be something that stars look forward to. I mean MAYBE if they only do panels and don't interact with people but then people would call them sell-outs.
