I love shite like this
I'm sure the axle would be fine as is. Axles go for hundreds of thousands of miles with no issues while dealing with being driven, not just dragged along. I would think that it'd be fine as is. It'd take a longgggggg time to put 100k on a trailer.
Hub and bearing would work and you could make it handle the big tire if you built it right of course. I like the idea of leaving it as-is more though.
