Until the NCAA puts a lid on the NFL dangling money in the face of these young players, losses like last Saturday will be repeated at LSU and across the SEC. That is unless you're Alabama.

The NFL already does too much to prevent this, at least as for as the law may be concerned. Unlike basketball who has the 1 and done rule, football has the 3 and done rule. Now, the last time it was challenged in court it won, but the time is coming and probably a lot sooner than we want where that rule will be declared illegal. You think its bad now...just wait.

Spoke to a graduate of a major SEC University [School of Engineering] yesterday after Church He graudated, believe it was around 67. I was complaining about LSU's loss, and he said money has taken over the game. I agreed. Believe he said six of the offensive lineman on this major SEC football team in his senior year stayed the full four years of their athletic scholarship and graduated with a degree in Engineering. I thought that's what these football athletic scholarships were for...to help a young man [or young woman] get a quality education at a great institution?

No, football scholarships are for people whose football abilities are so great that they can help the university win football games, which in turn helps revenue.

you think they give these 100-150 thousand dollar scholarships to these kids to be model students/scholars. These kids are brought in to win/put butts in the seats/get the big payouts from the BCS bowls and sell merchandise. You have a coach making 4.5 million dollars a year who gets a 100k bonus if these kids make a bowl,,,,while he is preaching to them to shun the money and get an education...chile please.
