All good points. I thought a lot about buying a Kahler trem. I remember my brother's friend who was a major shredder had a Charvel with a Kahler that was badass. I loved the feel of it. From what I've heard, a lot of people complain about it not staying in tune. I don't know what your experience has been. You can definitely get that nice growl with a quick flip.
I don't know if you've seen the new Ibanez's but they have the zero point system trems with a locking bar which can be easily removed. And it has a roller where you can change the tension with your thumb. That's why I want to go with Ibanez. I've considered Dean Rusty Cooley, but I really don't want the active EMG707's. I've never really been a fan of artist series but I bought the Schecter Jeff Loomis and I really like it. You can get a lot of guitar for less money going with Schecter. I just love the Ibanez Wizard neck. The Schecter is a nice change of pace/tone for me.
I think I'm going with the S5427 and I'm going to throw some BKP Painkiller zebra pups in it. It's going to look on the second from the left.
