i feel like people who aren't football fans would think the commercial is ridiculous. I know that we all understand where the ad's message is coming from, but again - if football is so powerful that it can "make you forget you have cancer" then why are Texans fans catching so much shite for cheering Matt Schaub's injury?

If Schaub wasn't playing so horribly the Texans would be 4-2 and thousands of Houstonians would be laying happily in their hospital beds forgetting about their situation.

The NFL is again trying to have it both ways. When fans cheer Schaub being injured they're "sickos" because afterall, it's "just a game". Yet when Robin Roberts is lying in her cancer ward it's WAY more than just a game. It's life-altering, faith-inspiring, and bigger than the sum of its parts.
You're missing the point. Cheering during Schaub's injury is just flat out bad form.

Look, I don't think people in Houston hate Matt Schaub. I think they hate the fact that they have to pay so much money to go to Reliant Stadium and watch Matt Schaub screw up and Gary Kubiak does nothing about it.

Kinda like Mike Ditka and the Billy Joe's. Or Jim Haslett and Aaron Brooks. Did we want Aaron Brooks to break all three of his legs so Jake Delhomme could play? No. We just wanted Jake Delhomme to play because he's not Aaron Brooks.
