I didn't play with my pistol at home but at the camp, my buddy and I were free to roam on 4 wheelers with our 6-shooters killing snakes and other vermin. It would probably be considered bad parenting these days, but I was always extremely safe with it and glad I was raised like that.

I had free reign with mine as well, but my dad does have a bad arse range set up behind the house.

My old man would have never let me pick up a handgun out of his sight until I was in high school at least.
