What is up with the Pokemon games? I always thought Pokemon was a kids' thing? Are they RPG or what?

They started out that way, kind of. But the kids that were around when it was really big are now grown up. They've adapted it to appeal to older audiences now.
Even when it first started it had some very dark/adult material.

You obviously weren't 8-12yrs old back in 1999.
Pokemon is fun.. just has that "kid game" stigma.
