And I know everyone will say oh my goodness but really in the second quarter and third we played to FL strengths and discombobulated our own offense. I like running too but mix in some play action and first and second down! I'm not saying we should of spread it out, which I don't think they would of stopped that either, I'm saying we could if been much better at calling a more tactical game! More boot legs and dump it off to the backs in the flats after hill takes it for 10 yards up the middle. Mayb a fake on the goaline and score easily to a TE? I mean there is so many things I see we could of done! Did we need to NO not at all! But why not? Idk

The point is to WIN....not to put up video game numbers.

In this game is was supremely obvious that we could run the ball on them and that they could not move the ball consistently on us.

Soooo...

Given that you are playing a team that has a defensive strength in the secondary and one of your prime receivers is not at 100 percent, why would you throw the ball a ton?

Best case scenarion is you score a bunch on the sure. But the other two possibility are really sucky...you leave a bunch of time on the clock or worse risk INT that might allow them to score on defense.

IN THIS GAME...as long as we were ahead by two scores, could run the ball, and did not let them score on defense...they were done.

Our coaches, being the smart folks that they are, realized this and got the win by pounding the ball and eating clock.
