I fully understand what you are saying, but LEO's don't have to follow LSHAA rules or in my case MHSAA. We follow the rules of our department and the Laws of the city, parish in your case, and state. The refs do not have any authority over us. In some cases the school has authority over th officers because they have their own Police Department such as Moss Point and Biloxi School Districts.

Does that mean we aren't working together to creat a good enviroment for the players and spectators? No, it just means that LEO's aren't guided by the rules of LHSAAA. In this case, the officer saw what he thought was a violation of the law and acted. Was he right? Either he was dead wrong or the city bowed down to LHSAA. I don't know the full story so I won't speculate on that part.

Dude he there at the discretion of the school to do a job at any point during the game he can be told you are not doing the job that we want you to do so you can go back where you came from.

Either:

A) the cop was paid by the school to help keep crowd control, or

B) the cop was just at the game as a spectator

Either way, the cop at the game I does need to follow the referees request. The cop himself, is not above the rules of the athletic contest.

The attitude that you have stated at least twice in this thread, "I am the law and I don't have to listen to anyone but my supervisor" is the exact reasons there are civilian/LEO distrust. Cops are supposed to SERVE and protect, not get into bullying matches and power struggles.

Hurting the cop's feelings isn't a violation of the law
