I don't think there is any doubt about that. Most coaches improve with age. Up to a point. Bowden, Paterno, and others hung on past their peak. There is only so much talented assistant coaches can cover. Some will say that Mack Brown has topped his peak.

I agree, but things could have factored into that. Maybe going to the NFL, coaching with diff guys. Also the 03 staff wouldnt have stayed in tact for long, and nothing in 04 showed me we were well on our way. In fact, we were lucky as balls to get in in 03. It does take a lot of luck, we wouldnt have gone if bama beats us in 2011. A couple of plays was the diff in that game.

The only thing that would make me think we would have continued to have success is because we wouldnt have to play him. So not sure how the west would have taken shape.

wonder what people would be saying if Miles was coach of bama and saban lost to him.
