Not. Even. Close. Bud

From Wiki answers

Arizona State and SMU at 8 times each, since the beginning of the NCAA Infractions started in 1953.

Other bad boys:
Auburn, Minnesota, Oklahoma,Texas A&M, Wichita State and Wisconsin all at 7

And yes, it does appear that you are making this up. Now commence with name calling, speculation and other LSU traditions. NEVER, EVER let facts get in the way of a good Bama rundown.

Based on what we've seen both via recruiting as well as all the illegible players they have played that Alabama is an awfully dirty program right now.

Bama has a proven track record of cheating. Its not really up for debate. That said I'd take Saban back in a heartbeat, he's the best that ever was IMHO.

Nope, sorry but why didnt he have similar success at LSU? I think all programs have boosters. All programs cheat. A fan buying a player a drink or a dinner at mcdonalds is cheating.

That said, Alabama has an advantage. Scheduling, Media bias, and Location. Even though LSU is close to texas, they are further from the talent rich states of GA and FL. Distance is never a factor for bama, hell they are closer to some parts of LA than BR is.

Honestly saban wouldn't have 3 out of 4 if he was at any other school, except for maybe UT and Ohio State. Because of recruiting and the weak arse schedule those teams play.

Again, what teams would ever be considered to have a rematch? Bama, ND, OSU, and prob Michigan. And that is based solely on their past accomplishments. I dont know of any team that can sit at home the last weak of the season, not win their division and not win their conference and still back their way into the bcs title game.

re: If Saban was real dirty, OR if LSU was clean

Nick Saban is one of the greatest college ooaches of the modern era. His record of success is indisputable.

Is he dirty? I seriously doubt it. Head coaches are rarely at the forefront of violations anymore. The boosters are the worst violators by far, and they get away with what the athletic departments allow, not the coaches.

Is he ruthless? Absolutely. He will do almost anything to win. Process marginal players, ignore his family, whatever it takes.

Watch "Pony Excess" and compare that era to today. The days of head coaches tacking a hundred dollar bill to the high school locker room bulletin board with their phone number on it are gone.

Saban is to football what Edwin Edwards is to Louisiana politics. He'll walk the line and stretch the rules as far as they will bend. One day he'll bend too much and his Cecil Brown will take the fall.
All college football is dirty. I will say this though. Saban has shown that while at Alabama he either is loose ing his grip or he is letting things slide. I'm not talking about Fluker and haha either. Don't forget the Men's Warehouse incident with Ingram, Richardson, and Jones or the textbook scandal that half the team was involved in. He's had some pretty serious issues while there.

So far he's only gotten warnings. Lets see how long the NCAA can afford to just slap them on the wrist. Without looking too partial.

Thanks for helping out with that. I mean, if it is in Wiki Answers, it must be 100% accurate.

I agree, i was responding to the guy saying he was the best that ever was. The dick sucking he gets on this board is unreal and down right scary.

Fans forget they wanted to run this guy out of town at one point.

He was well on his way... Also, he's probably a better coach now than he was at LSU.

I don't think there is any doubt about that. Most coaches improve with age. Up to a point. Bowden, Paterno, and others hung on past their peak. There is only so much talented assistant coaches can cover. Some will say that Mack Brown has topped his peak.

I agree, but things could have factored into that. Maybe going to the NFL, coaching with diff guys. Also the 03 staff wouldnt have stayed in tact for long, and nothing in 04 showed me we were well on our way. In fact, we were lucky as balls to get in in 03. It does take a lot of luck, we wouldnt have gone if bama beats us in 2011. A couple of plays was the diff in that game.

The only thing that would make me think we would have continued to have success is because we wouldnt have to play him. So not sure how the west would have taken shape.

wonder what people would be saying if Miles was coach of bama and saban lost to him.

Oh how easily everyone forgets! If he suddenly decided that he was tired of ruling his little kingdom in Tuscaloosa, a lot of the rantards would sell the farm to get him back. I don't think so. We have been there and done that.

A few of Coach Miles actions have been questionable, such as having the team vote on Hill's return, but not many.

I'll take "winning with integrity" over "win at all costs".

It will be interesting to see who keeps it going the longest. Hell, I always thought Saban would burn out like Jimmy Johnson.

I think persistent cheating and "dirty" programs are an institutional thing, though. I also believe it is no coincidence that Bama and Auburn are near the top of the violation list.

It is the entitlement mentality that Alabama has They assume that because they are who they are, cheating to win is ok. In Alabama's case, Bear Bryant got away with a lot of questionable practices because of his putting black players on the field. He bought a lot of looking the other way from the NCAA for that. Auburn cheats because they figure that is the only way to keep up with Alabama's cheating.

Miles letting the team vote Hill back on or off was not one of his questionable decisions. He has many in game questionable decisions, but he's the head coach of the program that I love and I will support him. My high school coach let the seniors vote to have me back on the team after an incident I got in. I was voted back on to the team. If the team doesn't want Hill and Miles forces them to play with him on the team the morale and chemistry of said team would be fricked up. He let them vote so you know that the team wants this guy and that they haven't lost any respect for him as a player and a man. Me personally I wouldn't have voted Hill back on. Am i glad we have him? Hell yea!!
