I wish one of these new guys we recruited that mash could play catcher. We already have what appears to be a potent defensive as well as offensive outfield. But Barash doesn't do it for me (sorry HCB). Not giving up on Chinea. The guy swings the bat as hard as anyone on the team.

Anyone hear anything about Bregs potentially playing catcher? I am aware of his fielding struggles at SS last year, but I don't think I'm in favor of him playing behind the plate.

Early signs show Dean at first with a possibility of Moore moving back the catcher. I think it might be an early solution because you at least have a veteran back there while trying to work out who wins the job outright.

Bregs was an overaggressive freshman at SS. Nola spoiled us.

If there is one thing we know for sure, it's that the bat does not affect the catcher position. The best backstop will/should win the catching position, and that will work itself out in practice from now to feb 13th.
