Score more points on offense and prevent your opponent from scoring as many points. That's the secret to winning games.

well you actually have the emergence of new players like jordan, vacarro, lewis, etc excelling in a completely new system (and perhaps a much less complicated than the one that spags ran last yr).
it's a bit of apples and oranges.
LSU is a bit deficient in its back 7 this year. the front four isn't always getting a pash rush by themselves and chavis looks like a genius when his teams get pressure without blitzing.
but we've blown coverages in secondary and haven't always covered well. you need top notch corners on blitzes to hold down their end on the island. you need LB's that can cover underneath dump routes that become a necessity when facing a blitz. and most of all you need safeties who know what the frick they are seeing and know where their assignment is in man and zones.
chavis and i'm sure miles to some extent don't want to get beat deep and my bet is they worry about the secondary's ability to cover when LSU brings a blitz.
