Kubrick was extremely obsessive. Something that might seem like an insignificant detail to most people has meaning for Kubrick. Its not hard to believe that some of these little details are there for a reason.

Oh I agree and understand completely. I know about his obsession and have heard the stories of how he'd call king at 3am and ask him random questions like "do you believe in God?" Just to get a better understanding and to get the perfect shot for a single scene. It is also explained ad nauseam in the film. I'm simply saying that some of the people's interpretations of some scenes were much more believable [SPOILERS] ( like the placement of the office and the magazine jack reads waiting) than others. A lot of the people tried to dissect every single thing and a lot of theories weren't convincing ( like the Minotaur). Either there was no deeper meaning or their interpretations of why Kubrick placed it there is wrong
