You have to high point the ball with a defender on you in that situation. Imagine the situation you described. If he turns his back to catch it over his shoulder then what was to stop the DB from high pointing it and intercepting it.

Right. There are instances where you'd catch a ball over your shoulder, but they are almost always something like this...without the guy's arm coming out of the ground obviously.



Rest of the time you're going to try and get out front.



Want to talk about bad technique, let's talk about receivers that continue to let balls hit them in the damn chest and cradle it and then look stunned the ball bounced off of them.
