Does it make great financial sense, no, but frick it and do it, not every decision we make has to be because it makes financial sense
There will never be a time in your life when you will be able to do this again, go for it and enjoy it, you will figure out someway to pay it off

That's my thought process Tigerpaw. You can't take money with you when you are gone, but those memories will last forever.
Good idea on the student loan. Maybe I can take out a direct subsidized loan next semester. My tuition will be paid for so I will get the amount of the loan and not have to pay interest while I am in school or for 6 months after I graduate. That would give me a 3-4 month head start on paying it off once I get back and start working.
