I've heard the same thing but never tried it. We are constantly trying to kill them off of our place in SW LA. However, after a while of hunting them those hogs get more spooky than a mature whitetail doe.
I hate to say it, but they're gonna be really tough to get rid of. They are smart and breed like rabbits.

It is BS. Hogs eat anything and everything. venting their brain box, heart, or lungs are about the only way you are going to kill one.

You can do the same thing with chunks of memory foam mattress. It also kill coyotes.
