I work in HR in large company in Baton Rouge. We supply skilled labor for companies such as Shell around the world. My only question or concern is that with all the planned projects from Baton Rouge to New Orleans and across the gulf South ,we will not have enough skilled craft people. It's tight as hell right now. I suggest to any of you people who are wondering aimlessly in life to learn a trade. I'm looking for Combination Welders for a long term job paying $28 an hour with benefits and most Welders laugh at that rate. Right now many craft people are making over 100,000 dollars a yr.

So the plant may or may not happen in the geismar or D' vile area where it will release huge amounts of toxic gasses and all the AP guys are gay. There may be some truth somewhere on that statement.
I think the only hold up is the permitting at this point. Fished with some guys on the project in early Aug and it was down to 3 sites. 2 in TX and the one they picked. After that refinery expansion debacle in Port Arthur we were sitting pretty. Obviously LA >>>>>>>TX.
