They do look newer... If the factory letter comes back at any length other than 30" you have your answer. There should be 3 serial numbers on the gun, the action (under the top lever) on the barrels and on the forearm. They should all match. If they do and the barrel lengths do not match the Cody letter then you know it has been re-barreled. Done at the factory, it will not hurt the value tremendously...
It is also possible that the other barrels, if another set was made, are still fine and at the home that no one noticed...

All serial numbers match that much I am certain of. Already checked that, sounds like I may have a really valuable gun. Pretty neat.
It helps a lot to know the factory could re barrel the gun and put the same serial numbers on it that helps a lot with the id of the serial number.
