Linda was a special band director and I never fully understood her departure but it seemed like a mistake to me at the time. She was not only a perfectionist as far as band performance was concerned but a real student of the craft (her PhD focused on historical development of Japanese military bands). As intense as she was "on the field" she was very down-to-earth away from LSU.

I agree that the half time performances have declined in quality, but the band seems to be playing at a high level during almost every break...seems to be a significant increase from previous years.

the sound quality has not changed, set on the east sideline last night and they sounded great. very balanced powerful sound.

I can't agree with this. I sat closer to the LSU band but clearly heard Auburn's band much louder and much more frequently than I heard TGBFTL throughout the game on Saturday.
