Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin were great together in this movie.

My wife was working in New Orleans while we were engaged back in 1978. I flew down to be with her several different weekends and fell in love with her and New Orleans at the same time. Many familiar scenes in the movie. /sigh

That movie catches a lot of flack, but it was fun. And, despite what anyone tries to argue, it was actually one of the first "modern age" movies that captured the atmosphere of New Orleans pretty well.

And as far as the complaints about Quaid's accent are concerned, the point is that he was a transplanted Cajun in N.O. and had mishmash of accents.

In the linked scene, it's sad to think that those buildings are probably all gone now.

Being still half asleep this morning I thought you were talking about Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner's "Undercover Blues"
