Yes, and your opinion is obviously misguided and ignorant...and not shared by anyone with common sense, nor shared by the people who evaluate the performance of those you were so blindly supporting yesterday.

Now I know how this is going to sound, and you don't have to believe me when I say this, because I'm perfectly aware that this is going to sound like total bullshite, but I'm going to say it anyway and I swear on the Bible that it's true:

My friend who is a college football official told me that the college football official community is divided on whether or not these guys were wrong, and as I said yesterday, it's kind of a "letter of the law" vs. "spirit of the law" debate. The officials didn't do anything incorrectly or else the Pac-12 would have cited a rule that wasn't followed. By saying that stuff about "high standard" and what not, that's in the same infield as saying "the spirit of the rule wasn't followed." I think we all agree that it would have been nice had the officials been a step or two quicker, and that's basically what the Pac-12 is saying here, and I agree with them. They're also refraining from saying that the officials officiated incorrectly, and I agree with that refraint (word?).

As far as Wisconsin is concerned, the thing they should take from this is that that was a stupid risk to take. They screwed up.

No one has said they did anything incorrectly. It isn't like the umpire picked the ball up, ran a lap around the field, walked it back to the other hash, and then spotted it 10 yards down the field from where it should have been. It has always been about them dicking around, wasting time, and not having a sense of urgency.

Wisconsin's only mistake was assuming the crew was competent enough to handle the situation.
