What circumstance would cause you to not feel bad for someone's career ending because of injury?

Cooper being the most athletic has become more urban legend than truth, people just repeat this as if it were fact now

Like Cooper said, he was faster than both his brothers but that wasn't saying much. Being the "most athletic Manning" isn't very overly athletic to begin with

quote:

Q: You had good hands, good size at 6-4, and decent speed. Were you faster than your bothers?

A: Faster than my brothers, yes. But that's not saying much.

Q: What was the scouting report on you?

A: Great dancer. Not a great voice. They probably would have put some weight on me and turned me into a not good blocking tight end or just a big old target on the outside. I would have been a lot better in 1970. I would have been fast. Now I would have been slow. I was a 4.6 guy, not very fast.

I think it's just a general assumption because he played WR and was recruited as such and not as a drop-back QB. If anything, I'd assert this sort of means he really had little shot of doing anything at a level beyond college. And I like the guy.

He may have been faster (if that's what "more athletic" means in this discussion) than Peyton or Eli. However, I don't think he ever possessed, or was ever going to possess, NFL WR type speed.

Well, if you put Peyton or Eli at Wideout they wouldn't have been half as good as Cooper.
