The writer/editor relationship is one of checks and balances. Thayer, right or wrong, was looking to write an attention grabbing story. The editor should have whacked it forever ago.

I thought it was amazing SI even hired him after he released a number of stupid articles for MSN's sports site. Now, I guess SI is finally seeing the err of their ways
