No, it wasn't. And if Steven Jackson had caught the ball he should have caught you'd see why.

There are arguments pro and con, to be sure, each with RISKS... but going for it had a potential REWARD, i.e. an automatic win for gaining one yard, that outweighed the risk. Even upon a failure to gain that one yard Atlanta still would have had a lot of work to do.

Kicking the field goal had a REWARD, i.e. and automatic 3 points and forcing a team(one held to 7 points for 45 minutes) to score a TD in the final minute.

And if we don't make it on 4th, Atlanta still sends to overtime with the Jackson drop.

Not really, they would have to go fewer yards in the same amount of time to tie the game with a failed conversion.
