It really depends on what you're going to be doing on it. Overall flexibility, go with an egg or similar type grill. If you do any smoking, listen to TClay. If you just grill steaks and chicken, get a $200 job from Lowes (ask for the american made one, I forget the brand but theres only one). My dad just picked up a gas and charcoal dual cooker from Sams that he is pleased with.

I wouldnt spend $700 on a propane grill though unless I was having it built into an outdoor kitchen.
