Don't give up on it if it hurts for the first few paddles. I got my first kayak a few months after going over the handlebars of my mountain bike. I had bilateral radial head fractures in both arms. It hurt like hell he first few paddles and I could hear the bones cracking and popping as I paddled. I thought I had wasted money on the kayak it hurt so bad. It took 3-4 weeks and the pain went away.
