Announcers for children.

They're like the Disneyland ride...dumbed down with pom-poms waiving and stupid stereotypes and euphemisms.

Oh and also helps you're a fan of teams they are huge homers for...which pretty much switches depending upon which team the SEC offices tell them to honk for...or, sometimes they just honk the entire conference if they can't decide.

About as banal, childish and predictable an announcing job as if some regular Tigerdroppings.com pajama-wearing fan were calling the game for his team in between posting on the SEC-Rant.

Verne and Gary reminds me of a hot, humid, slow, Louisiana Saturday afternoon. They go with the setting.

As a CFB fan, i like Verne. Sure he makes mistakes but he is extremely witty and has a great voice. Just youtube his call on LSU Fake FG against USCe. Its outstanding.

Eta: on same play GD's take is also great. At first he was criticizing Miles play call on 3rd but then realized Miles was just setting up the fake on 4th. He then gave Miles credit and took back the criticism.
