man, les did't have that metality last night. i doubt he's ever had it but we ddn't punt until the 2nd half. our O struggled in the red zone for awhile but our O made consistent drives the entire game. it was TCU that kept it close. when you play a good team, that happens. yes, some gams against lesser teams are close too but that is not intentional. those are the games where younger players with less experience get some live reps so they will be ready when SEC time comes. the thought the HC keeps games close intentionaly is retarded.

Rt, because les let them return a kickoff for a td and told blue the fumble the ball on the 6 yd line.

When it comes to some of the drops...I give TCU credit. They made some great plays in the secondary at times

And at times they got a way with pass interference. Like the one on Desean Smith in the endzone.

Must develop some inside pass game (TE/RB) to help WRs

This! Do this and this offense could be scary good!

Not sure why they haven't done it. It is a must, especially against the top teams we will play. Need to be able to dump off to TE and RB.

Not a must, but would also like to see some pitch back sweeps to the RB, depending on which RB is in the game.

I expect them to try a lot of different things in the next two games. If it works against UAB and Kent, we can add it to the playbook. An opener against a ranked opponent isn't the time to get experimental. Stick with what you know, if you think it will get the job done, and it did.

Twice TCU committed interference & it was not called. It was obvious & in front of a close official. No excuse for not being called. One reason why some passes were dropped.

Which 2 plays???

First 2 redzone TD pass attempts. One to OBJ and another to TD i think. D. Smiths was not a drop and i would not have called interference. It was a good play by DB. I'm nitpicking here but had D.Smith came toward the pass it would have been a TD. Dude is going to be the real deal just needs a little game time.

Look at JL and OBJ experience at college level equals future success.

The easiest pass in the book continues to evade Les Miles and there's no good reason why

Unless you watched a different game than me, screens were the only inside passes attempted. I don't think he can say a part of the offense needs to be developed that was not even attempted in the FIRST game with a new OC. It's like saying our triple option game needs to be developed or our jump pass game in the red zone.

re: Todd Blackledge tweeted about the LSU offense
Like others have said, I don't put too much stock into us "not utilizing the TEs or backs enough" in the passing game.
We tried screens that were sniffed out all game long. Desean Smith was in the game way more than I expected and almost had a TD catch.
TCUs game plan from the get was obvious. They were going to stop the run and inside game and force the WRs to make plays, because in the past, we've never been able to do that. Little did they know, Beckham and Landry were just waiting to explode.

I said in another thread, in the past, this is a game LSU might have lost because they probably would have continued to stick to the run game and fallen behind. Make no qualms, the passing game won this for us. I was actually surprise how quickly they would change to a 3 or 4 wide set after a no gainer on first down out of the I. That shows true adjustment on Miles part knowing what had to change. Cameron was the missing key this team needed to win championships. It's not all on the D or run game anymore, and that's a beautiful thing.

I know screens were the only ones. I didn't say other inside pass plays needed to be developed. I said we need to use them. We did not, like you said, which is a concern I have. If we incorporate the dump off to RB and inside to TE, then this offense will be scary good.

They were real good plays by TCU;s DBs. Switch jerseys and nobody here would be calling those PI....just sayin.
