So you're saying that from all the old game footage they have. Not a single one are with the Clemson mascot. They should have a clip of it from the past. It's not like the Mike the Tiger clip is from this season

What we're trying to say is that it is just a commercial for Gameday in general, but they are highlighting the game that they will be at this weekend.
One has nothing to do with the other...

Okay, this may get heady...
The reason they chose that clip is because it's the start of a new season and, since they're using the Lion King music, the picked the clip of Corso holding the head up, which looks similar to Rafiki holding Simba up to the sky at the beginning of the movie. Get it...new season...new king.
Cut me some slack - I have a 4 year old that loves that movie...
