I always take crap here when I rag on this show, but Im telling you Im right....the writing has been really pathetic and lazy the last four seasons....they had a great premise and a great thing going and pissed it away

This season in particular has been so out there that some people have theorized that it's all an end of life dream, which has some potential as an idea.
Unfortunately, I think those people are wrong and it's just bad writing.

Don't blame the writers. Dexter's sustainability was doomed from the start... given the premise there was only so much that could be done before it had to be ramped up into the absurd to have any hope of retaining interest.

This was the first season in a while, because it's the last, where they could play with Dexter getting caught. It made the first couple seasons better because we really didn't know, and it felt like he could be. They've shite that opportunity away.
With Vogel they had a chance to really tell us about Dexter's past, and his father, and they fricked that up too. frick em.

are there people who don't feel this way?! i used to love dexter. now it is not only ridiculous, but it is just sort of boring as well.

they blew their load with season 2. Judging from the show, you would guess the Miami PD has a serial killer on the loose every 5 seconds, 25% of the population has anti social personality disorder and 100% of those people are serial killers.
It doesn't even treat psycopathy in a real way. Season 1 was very good...Season 2 was great, but there just wasn't anywhere to go from there.
