Google, flush with cash and mulling a way to extend its reach into television, has held meetings with the National Football League, the NFL said on Wednesday.
Although the League would not comment on specifics of the meeting, it raised the tantalizing possibility that the search behemoth could launch a bid for the rights to the NFL's Sunday Ticket package. Sources tell CNBC that Sunday Ticket was one of several items that emerged in the context of the discussion.

Please god let this be true, especially if they stream on the internet.

Games on YouTube would be awesome. I'm just wondering how people would react to being forced to use their computer to watch the games (although hooking your computer up seems pretty standard for a lot of people to do these days). I'm guessing that they would include it with their Google TV devices as well though.

I wish the NFL would have something equivelant to MLB.tv

I'd rather not watch an NFL came through the Internet. That's all I need is for my shite to buffer on a game-winning TD pass/run

No redzone no care
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but redzone is included in the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

yes. the maxx package gives you streaming ability.

This is extremely unlikely.

Still, the NFL has indicated that another reason they accepted DirecTV's bid was to limit the availability of the product so that the television networks and especially their local affiliates would be protected. In particular, NFL Sunday Ticket viewers do not count towards local Nielsen ratings; thus offering NFL Sunday Ticket on cable might cost CBS and Fox affiliates millions of dollars in lost revenue from local commercial breaks (as opposed to national ads sold by the networks). In turn, affiliates help subsidize the networks' programming costs.

would love it if google were to get Sunday Ticket
would be interested to see how they'd plan to offer it

NFL Sunday Ticket max is only available to DirecTV subscribers so it does not allow for others to use the streaming ability. MLB.tv is completely seperate from MLB extra innings and anyone who pays for it can use it, regardless of who provides the internet access

There are already like 12 sites you can stream redzone, or any game from for free
